Lifestyle Wednesday's - Food Trends in 2017
New food trends that are more extra than your summer festival outfits but makes your mouth go to a whole different level.
1. Waffle Pops
Waffles have been turned into ice cream cones and vehicles for syrup-slathered fried chicken, but now they're getting the lollipop treatment at Sweet Combforts. And with all of your favorite sweet toppings — chocolate, Oreos, sprinkles, Fruity Pebbles.
2. MacAttack Burger
Forget the ramen burger. This breadcrumb-crusted mac and cheese bun makes for the most indulgent burger we've ever seen. Created by Pig Pen Delicacy, this thing is food porn personified.
3. Cheesy Tots
This is some next-level cheese right here. At Paper Planes, raclette cheese gets melted and scraped right off the wheel immediately after you order.
4. Matcha Mixtures
These vivid drinks from MatchaBar start with a green tea base, which are amped up with a jolt of lime, mint, or coconut.
5. Blackjack Quesadilla
Kogi BBQ loads this quesadilla with caramelized onions, spicy pork, and both cheddar and jack cheeses. But then it also gets smothered in a cooling citrusy-jalapeño salsa verde.
6. Chicken Tikka Poutine
The classic Indian dish gets the Canadian fry treatment thanks to the folks at Badmaash, who season the frites with masala, layer on the cheese curds, and then douse them in piping hot beef gravy before topping it all off with tandoori chicken.
7. Japanese-Mexican Hot Dogs
Sumo Dog will be a hit at the festival for sure, thanks to pork, beef, and vegan dogs topped with a mashup of Japanese and Mexican accoutrements like guacamole, tempura crunchies, and miso pork chili.
8. Oreo Sandwich
This next-level peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, crushed Oreos, and banana sandwich
9. Lobster mac 'n' cheese perfection
10.Rosé popsicle
Rosé comes from vineyards along California’s alluring coastline where the sun-drenched days slowly ripen our grapes and cool nights ensure a bright, crisp wine. Elegant flavors of watermelon, strawberry and white nectarine lead to a silky texture and a refreshing finish. Serve with prosciutto wrapped melon, an arugula salad or just as a delightful complement to a warm, sunny day.
